For English-Proficient Students:
Using the Voice as the Actorʼs Instrument, actors learn to release stress allowing them to connect to an authentic, truthful voice. The actor learns techniques in breath, posture, dictation & explores different archetypes to create characters through role playing, the Alexander technique & more.
For English Thru Performing Arts and Accent Reduction Students:
Perfect you English with activities that combine grammar, accent reduction, diction, vocabulary & role playing.
History of Television
Tuesday, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm
An introduction into the major U.S. Television Movements including screenings, discussions, and scene work.
Tuesday, 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Utilizing the Sanford Meisner & Stella Adler Techniques, artists will learn Script Analysis, Emotional Life, & Moment to Moment acting through exercises & scene work.
Mythology & The Creative Process
Wednesday 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Learning the foundation of the mythic model & its applications to life, acting, screenwriting, & directing. Artists experience how to leverage this powerful human & psychological paradigm through scene work.
Defining the Screenplay
Thursday, 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Students learn Screenplay Structure so they can write them & act in them. Highlights include: character development, plot points, the creation of each act, & scene by scene breakdown.
